#Open furnishings is a manifesto on self-produced furniture, open production, shared knowledge and responsible use of resources, that provides information for making available seating systems.
\nThe project is curated by Ivano Vianello and Laura Bortoloni, professors
\nof the Degree Course in Industrial Design at the University of Ferrara, is inspired by Enzo Mari\u2019s famous proposal inviting people to make furniture with their own hands.
\nThrough self-construction, the goal is to stimulate a responsible and critical view of the products we use, implementing a process that enhances practical intelligence. Open access to technology offers us the opportunity to use production processes nowadays that were previously inaccessible outside the industrial contexts.
\nThe developed functional models can be produced by users using the resources of a local digital production laboratory, such as FabLab, with 3D printers and CNC cutting machines and to create the graphic instructions for their self-production.
\nThe main features of the project are universality of the users, simplicity of construction and availability of materials.
\nPeople develop and share knowledge based on the principles of open design, generating digital models that are freely available on the web to be recreated, exchanged, modified and improved to support a design process based on the use of accessible resources, with techniques and tools suited to their particular needs (cultural, social, material, etc.).
\n#Openfurnishings aims to educate citizens as agents of transformation, putting technology at their service and favoring local production and resources, creating active and productive cities and territories with a look to the future from a sustainable perspective. #Openfurnishings is a constantly evolving initiative that will develop
\nwith the aim of creating a community in which design students from different universities can interact to create instructions for new seats and other accessories that will be made available to final users. This design community will also aim to collect useful information for the new design, thanks to the comments of the end users. #Open furnishings \u00e8 un manifesto sull’autoproduzione, sulla produzione aperta, sulla conoscenza condivisa e sull’uso responsabile delle risorse, che fornisce informazioni per la messa a disposizione di sistemi di sedute.
\nIl progetto curato da Ivano Vianello e Laura Bortoloni, docenti del Corso di Laurea in Disegno Industriale dell’Universit\u00e0 di Ferrara,\u00a0si ispira alla famosa proposta di Enzo Mari che invitava le persone a realizzare mobili con le proprie mani.
\nAttraverso l\u2019auto produzione, l’obiettivo \u00e8 stimolare una visione responsabile e critica dei prodotti che utilizziamo, mettendo in atto un processo che valorizzi l’intelligenza pratica. L’accesso aperto alla tecnologia ci offre oggi l’opportunit\u00e0 di utilizzare processi produttivi prima inaccessibili al di fuori dei contesti industriali.
\nI modelli funzionali sviluppati possono essere prodotti dagli utenti utilizzando le risorse di un laboratorio di produzione digitale locale, come il FabLab, con stampanti 3D e macchine da taglio CNC e per creare le istruzioni grafiche per la loro autoproduzione.\u00a0Le caratteristiche principali del progetto sono l’universalit\u00e0 degli utenti, la semplicit\u00e0 di costruzione e la disponibilit\u00e0 dei materiali.
\nLe persone sviluppano e condividono conoscenze basate sui principi dell’open design, generando modelli digitali che sono liberamente disponibili sul web per essere ricreati, scambiati, modificati e migliorati per sostenere un processo di progettazione basato sull’uso di risorse accessibili, con tecniche e strumenti adatti alle loro particolari esigenze (culturali, sociali, materiali, ecc.).
\n#Openfurnishings si propone di educare i cittadini come agenti di trasformazione, mettendo la tecnologia al loro servizio e favorendo la produzione e le risorse locali, creando citt\u00e0 e territori attivi e produttivi con uno sguardo al futuro in una prospettiva sostenibile. #Openfurnishings \u00e8 un’iniziativa in continua evoluzione che si svilupper\u00e0 con l’obiettivo di creare una comunit\u00e0 in cui studenti di design di diverse universit\u00e0 possano interagire per creare istruzioni per nuove sedute e altri accessori che saranno messi a disposizione degli utenti finali. Questa comunit\u00e0 di progettazione avr\u00e0 anche lo scopo di raccogliere informazioni utili per il nuovo design, grazie ai commenti degli utenti finali.<\/p>\n
